The Stuff We are Made Of
The grit we gain from being alive, our shell hardens, our expectations create walls, our
pain shuts us down and closes us off. Or perhaps it will push you inward, perhaps it will
give you the strength to let go of what no longer serves you, even if you feel as though
this loss will take your breath, your light and your purpose. In the darkness the light
shines the brightest.
Loving others allows us the space to love ourselves, holding the grief and suffering of
others allows us to touch our own pain. The ability to give and receive, the balance of
healing can be seen in every part of our life. Compassion for suffering is not the act of
pity our shame. It is the action of empathy, of relating to others authenticity and with
kindness.
For me the grit is the fuel, the experience of living fills my heart. Touching my pain is
real, talking time to understand my emotions keeps me humble and deepens my love for
the human experience. It strengthens my deep love for you.
May I be filled with loving kindness.
May I be safe from inner and outer danger.
May I be well in body and mind.
May I be happy and at ease.
Yours Always,
Kim
